My painting is concerned with voyeuristic perspectives, intimate relationships and hidden spaces of existence. I seek to explore the many ways in which intimacy can be expressed in contemporary painting in the post-pandemic era. Water and the body are two recurring images in my works that are used to lead the viewer into the private space of others, thus bringing the viewer closer to the characters in the paintings. Water represents the naked, the quiet, the self and the natural, suggesting an internal struggle between the self and the outside world.
